TG raids 5 days a week when the content demands it, 6:30-11:30 EST Sunday to Thursday. Would you be able to maintain an 80% attendance rate?: I would be able to maintain 100% raid attendance
Do you know anyone in TG who would vouch for your skill as a player? If so, who?: No
What is you previous guild history and explain any reasons why you left them. (long answer):
I am looking to leave my current guild because of my dissatisfaction with progression as well as guild continuity. There have been many occasions where scheduled “guild raids” have been forced to recruit puggers due to the lack of members showing up to attend raids. As a result of this in particular, progression has been slow and loot has been distributed “out of guild”, which I personally feel is unfair to the few, dedicated members of any guild.
Have you ever been a raid leader, class leader, officer, or website administrator with another guild? (long answer):
I have never assumed any of the aforementioned roles
Why do you want to join TG over another guild on this server? (long answer):
I just recently reactivated my account (about a week or so ago) and did not know much about TG to be completely honest. However, I did a heroic daily with a member of TG today (H-HoS) and I inquired about recruitment. He directed me to the forums, where I proceeded to Gimpedguild.org and read up on the accomplishments and progression of the guild. The site is organized and displays signs of professionalism, which in turn suggests that the guild is as well. I went on and browsed the website a bit, and read up on policies, etc. I feel that the guild is very tightly knit as a unit and I would like to contribute as best I could, in hopes of making TG just that much better on Arthas.
Please describe in detail your previous raid experience, pre-BC, BC, and current content. Include information if you participated in pre-nerf kills, legitimate attunements (such as Hand of A’dal), etc. (long answer):
I began playing the rogue class back when Naxx 40 was around and have been playing this class ever since. I have cleared MC and BWL, Kara, SSC, EoE, and Sunwell. My only legitimate attunement was Kara, but I don’t think that counts I never did BT though. As far as current content goes, I have done VoA 10/25, OS 10/25, ToC 10, ToC 25 pug up to Anub, and Uld 10/25.
Explain in detail the way you DPS/Heal/Tank, rotations, gear selection, gemming, etc. Convince us that you have thorough and extensive knowledge of your class. Links to WWS or similar performance recording tools are helpful. (long answer):
I prefer the Combat tree to the mutilate tree because of the benefits of ArPen available to maces. I have looked over the spreadsheets available to rogues on EJ and ArPen scales tremendously and usually provides extra dps on non-murderable bosses, a talent available to mutilate specs. As far as gemming goes, I feel that the +20 agility gem is far superior to any available alternatives, even at the expense of socket bonuses. When starting a boss encounter, I usually use TotT on the tank to prevent accidental aggro from initial burst damage. I follow that up with a garrote and immediately use my trinket and AR, in hopes that their CD's will reset during the fight (if the encounter lasts that long). AR gives the luxury of spamming SS for a SnD and Rupture. I use KS after AR wears off (so that I dont waste the energy regen). According to spreadsheets on EJ, there seems to be a point where rogues can effectively eliminate rupture from their cycles completely, and just use SS and SnD. Howerver, I am not geared enough to do so atm (just thought i'd point that out). When the tank has maintained sufficient threat on the target, I use a macro for TotT and use it throughout the rest of the fight to increase a fellow raid member's DPS. I use vanish to reapply a garrote and to erase threat on the target (in case I become targeted by a boss/mob), CoS in the event of AoE spells, interrupts to disrupts casting (ToC), feint to avoid AoE damage. There have been numerous pug raids I have attended where there was no warrior applying sunder armor stacks. In such cases, I usually use expose armor. While this disrupts my rogue rotation and hinders my dps somewhat, the overall raid dps benefits from the 20% armor reduction granted by expose armor. I hope I did not leave anything out, but if I did, I would greatly appreciate any feedback/criticism, etc.
Describe your gaming system. Your computer needs to be good enough to not cause problems raiding. Frame lag, ping, connection problems, not using a microphone + Ventrilo or crashing is not acceptable. (long answer):
I use a Dell XPS m1710 Laptop. I run WoW on full graphic settings and have an average framerate of 41 and an average latency of 122. I have access to Ventrilo and a microphone as well. I have had the same gaming rig for 3 years now, and I have never had any problems with it when I game. I would personally rate my computer an 8/10.
Why are you worth being one of the 25 people in a raid? Please list anything else you'd like to mention about yourself that we might have missed. (long answer):
I feel that I am worth being a core member of a raid group because I know how to play rogues efficiently and effectively. I feel that I can dish out a substantial amount of DPS while maximizing survivability, which I feel is an overlooked asset to a raid. A dps class cannot do any dps if he/she is dead. Also, I would bring 110% effort, focus, and diligence to every raid. I feel that if I do not, then I am wasting $15/month on subscription fees. However, on a larger scale, I would be wasting $360 of the other 24 members of the raid.
I play goalie in an adult hockey league and I just took up surfing. I play tennis and lift on a regular basis and I am studying to become a doctor.
I know that my gear is somewhat below par, but I feel that gear is not nearly as important as knowing how to play a class and how to play it well. Below I have tried to justify why I would be a great asset to the guild:
1) I have been playing rogue since Naxx 40 and know the class inside and out.
2) I feel that I am intelligent and competent and can perform to the highest of standards during raids
3) I just reactivated my account not too long ago after about 7 months away from WoW. Hopefully it is evident that I am making a conscious effort to gear myself up as quickly as possible and become more of an asset to the guild.
Thank you for reviewing my application,
Can you handle criticism?: Of course, so long as it is constructive criticism.
