TG raids 5 days a week when the content demands it, 6:30-11:30 EST Sunday to Thursday. Would you be able to maintain an 80% attendance rate?: That raid time is perfect. I can make any raid where you need me.
Do you know anyone in TG who would vouch for your skill as a player? If so, who?: Being gone from the server for nine months, I do not.
What is you previous guild history and explain any reasons why you left them. (long answer):
To sum it up, I started playing on Arthas in late 2006 and transferred to Dentarg in November 2008. I recently transferred back, because Arthas is home. It feels like home and it will always be home. On Dentarg, I joined the now defunct <DeathWish> right after hitting 80 in early December 2008. I stayed there until <DeathWish> started to slowly die and that's when I joined <Constant Karma>. CK had some stability issues after a while (before 3.1) and eventually reformed under the name <Rebirth>. <Rebirth> was founded by one of the officers in CK and eventually I was given the reigns as Guild Master. With the help of my estranged wife, We progressed through 10man Ulduar content at a steady pace. Dentarg's a low population server and it's rather difficult to pick up a consistent 25man raid group week after week, so we primarily focused on 10man Ulduar and we hosted numerous 25man Ulduar pugs with 10-15 of our best players and 10-15 puggers.
Have you ever been a raid leader, class leader, officer, or website administrator with another guild? (long answer):
I have help rankings from Guild Master all the way to Core-Raider. I have plenty of experience being a web site administrator for the guilds that I was a part of and I've eventually made it up the rankings to Officer or Co-GM in practically every guild that I've been a part of.
Why do you want to join TG over another guild on this server? (long answer):
I remember TG from back when I was on Arthas during The Burning Crusade. TG was a reputable guild in TBC and I have no doubts of the same reputation in Wotlk.
Please describe in detail your previous raid experience, pre-BC, BC, and current content. Include information if you participated in pre-nerf kills, legitimate attunements (such as Hand of A’dal), etc. (long answer):
I spent a good portion of my time in BC doing PVP. By the time I started raiding, Sunwell was out and I only had the opportunity to get through Kara and Gruuls before the launch of WOTLK. WOTLK is a different story, though. Like most people, I've raped Naxx in 10 and 25 man modes, OS/VoA, Ulduar, etc. My last guild on Dentarg was a small 10man raid guild and before it fell apart due to some people quitting and some people losing interest in PVE, we had downed everything up to Yogg with ease.
Explain in detail the way you DPS/Heal/Tank, rotations, gear selection, gemming, etc. Convince us that you have thorough and extensive knowledge of your class. Links to WWS or similar performance recording tools are helpful. (long answer):
Well why don't I start with my rotation?
Typically, with 0/13/58, I use Curse of Elements or Curse of Doom (depends on other Warlocks in raid) > Corruption > Immolate > Conflagrate > Chaos Bolt > Incinerate spam > Redo as needed.
I would use CoE to reduce resistances. If there's already a Warlock in the raid using CoE, I would use CoD for more damage. Corruption is an instant cast and that's why I use it next. Immolate starts the fun... Once Immolate is casted, I immediately pop Conflagrate, Chaos Bolt and spam Incinerate until I can get one last Conflagrate off before Immolate needs reapplying.
Once reaching the appropriate hit cap, I started focusing on spell power. I'm just about 2550sp at the moment and I'm still a few emblems shy of picking up an 8.5 piece to replace one of my 10man Ulduar items. I expect to easily pass 2.6k spell power rather shortly.
Describe your gaming system. Your computer needs to be good enough to not cause problems raiding. Frame lag, ping, connection problems, not using a microphone + Ventrilo or crashing is not acceptable. (long answer):
I run WoW on a PC I built... Intel Core2Extreme quadcore 2.66ghz CPU overclocked to 2.93ghz, 4gb of RAM, 1TB HDD, nvidia 640mb 8800gts graphics card, microphone & vent (a necessity for any raider) and I typically maintain a solid 50-60dps depending on the raid size and depending on what exactly I'm doing. I never have had any FPS issues. My ISP is an 8mbit cable connection that rarely, if ever, has any issues. It's as reliable as it gets for home broadband.
Why are you worth being one of the 25 people in a raid? Please list anything else you'd like to mention about yourself that we might have missed. (long answer):
1) I'm reliable. If i sign up for a raid, the only way I'm going to not show up is if I'm in the hospital dying or something ridiculous like that.
2) I am well prepared. If I have a raid scheduled, I always bring enough food/water/flasks/soul shards/etc for the scheduled raid.
3) Maturity. I'm 25 years old. While, there's probably a bunch of people in their mid-20s on WoW that act like a preteen, maturity is one thing that you can count on with me. Everyone likes a good joke every now and then and I'm no exception to that... but there's a time and a place for everything.
4) I have dual-spec and I'm willing to spec my second spec to anything that the guild needs for raiding. Maybe demonology for the buffs? Maybe affliction? You want it? You got it!
Can you handle criticism?: To be honest, if one can't take criticism well, then how can they truely learn from their mistakes? I've got thick skin and if you tell me that I need to fix something regarding my gear/gems/anything.... all you have to do is say the word and it's done.
How can we contact you?: in-game (Outofshards is my Warlock and Islayallies is my Paladin), via e-mail at chrisoverton@gmail.com or via via AIM at chris0vert0n. I'm very easy to get in touch with and if you'd like to talk on vent, I'd be more than happy to speak with you guys.
