New DKP Rules (Second Auction Shroud DKP System)
Sunday September 06 2009 - submitted by Josua at 01:49pm 0 Comments

General Guidelines

- Be on time and prepared for raids. Older (previous tier) raids do not require much preparation. For current tier raids however, you must bring potions appropriate for your class, and any other consumables that will help. This includes buff food, flasks or double elixirs for every boss. The guild is simply unable to provide everybody with every potion for every fight. You're in a raiding guild, it requires some effort on your part. It should be noted that not bringing enough of these to last you a night in a current-tier raid is cause for being docked dkp for your lack of participation.

- If you are a new member and/or unsure of your responsibilities for a given boss encounter, please ask somebody that knows before the pull. We'd much rather take a minute to explain an encounter than wipe to your complete lack of knowledge and effort.

- Be courteous on Ventrilo. During boss fights keep any conversation to the task at hand and only say what is absolutely necessary.

TG's Loot Rules

Earning DKP

- Like most raiding guilds, TG has a DKP system that is used to determine who is awarded loot.
- DKP is awarded on per night basis. The amount of DKP depends on how difficult the raid was that night. The following are a rough set of guidelines:

2 DKP - Farm night (basic amount that you get for showing up)
5 DKP - Killed some bosses, but not quite on farm (it took several attempts to kill each boss)
8 DKP - A full night of wipes, and we don't kill anything
10 DKP - A full night of wipes, and we kill the boss (this value could potentially go higher if it's a boss we've been stuck on for several nights/weeks)

- This list is a rough guideline only, the actual values will vary on officer discretion, but this should give you a rough idea of how much DKP you can expect to earn in a given raid week. DKP is earned at the end of the raid night.

- DKP is awarded to people in raid as well as people sitting out on call. Because it takes more than 25 raiders to keep a guild running, and no one likes to sit out and wait for the raid to need you, people on call earn equal amounts of DKP to those in the raid. That being said however, people outside of the raid must be readily available.
- At 6:30PM (all times are server time), all guild members of rank Trial or higher will be invited to raid. At 6:45PM we will finalize the raid, and groups 1-5 can zone in. At this time the person doing DKP for night will take an attendance snapshot, and announce it in guild. Anyone who is not in the raid at this time but wishes to earn DKP and attendance can remain "on call"; (s)he has 15 minutes to send a whisper to the DKP person for the night so that the DKP mod will add them to the attendance snapshot. These 15 minutes are also a grace period to anyone arriving late. If you are later than 7PM, you weren't available at raid start when we built the raid, and as a result will not receive DKP for the night.
- People who are "on call" must be easily reachable (in another vent channel, leave phone number, IM contact, etc). The bottom line is, if we decide we need you, we need to be able to contact you quickly. There is a thread on the forums for contact information (make sure you include your main character name if it is different from your forum name). Once contacted, you should be able to log on immediately (less than 5 minutes). We aren't interested in waiting 15 minutes while you drive home from the bar. You don't need to be at your computer, but you should be in the same room or the next (again, not 5 floors away in the library).
- If you are "on call" and we are unable to reach you, you will lose DKP and attendance for the night, and if this becomes a recurring issue, have DKP penalties applied as well.
- When raiding is done for the night, a closing attendance snapshot will be taken and the DKP person will announce it in guild. Anyone not in the raid at this time has 20 minutes to whisper the DKP person to have the mod add them to the closing attendance snapshot. A small DKP incentive is attached to this closing snapshot to encourage people to be available right up to the end of the night. If you were on call, make sure you spoke to someone in the raid at the start of the night who will contact you at raid end. Please do not ask officers to contact you, as contacting a dozen people at the end of the raid is too much, instead ask a friend in the raid, or even in guild who will be online to see the announcement.

Awarding Loot

- When loot drops, the DKP person for that night will take a boss snapshot and announce loot in guild chat. The snapshot uses the same player list from the attendance snapshot at the start of the night, so people on call do not need to report in.
- Next bids will be taken for each item that dropped, one at a time. When bidding has started, players interested in the item can send a bid to the DKP person; players bid in percentages of their total DKP from 1 up to a maximum of 50 percent (whole percentages only).
- Whichever player bids the highest percentage wins the item, if there is a tie, the person with highest absolute DKP wins the item. The winning player will then pay the second highest bid as a percentage of their own DKP.

Example:
Josua has 350DKP and bids 30%, while Attilla has 200DKP and bids 40%. Attilla wins the item, and pays 30%(60DKP).
If Josua had also bid 40%, he would have won the item, because he has more DKP than Attilla, and payed 40%(140DKP).

Bidding Notes:
- When bidding is opened for an item, do not send joke bids or unnecessary tells to the person taking bids, the individual doing the bids has better things to do than filter out useless messages.
- If it is found that a raider has attempted to grief another by artificially inflating the price for an item, that raider will pay an amount of DKP eqaul to the amount he bid. The person who was the target of said grief bid will pay a recalculated amount based on the grief bid not existing.

- There is a 50DKP floor in the system. When someone with less than 50DKP bids on an item, that bid counts as a bid of 1% against all other people with more than 50DKP. This prevents people from just bidding the full 50% on all items all the time.
- Trials start with 25DKP; under normal circumstances this means that they are ineligible to win loot for approximately 2 weeks. If no one else bids however, they can still win loot rather than see it get disenchanted.
- Off spec does not matter in the least. If someone who is there 100% of the time gears up their off spec over you because you're only there 60% of the time, then the loot is still more useful to the guild as a whole because the 100% raider can respec to satisfy the needs of the raid. Think of it this way, you're 40% likely to not be there at all, so you having the loot wouldn't help in the least. If this is happening to you, increase your attendance and loot will follow.

- Finally, members who leave the guild (join another guild, ragequit, take an extended hiatus, etc) and then return, or who switch their main character, will have their DKP reset to 40 (this will only ever reset you down, not up).

The Guild Master ( and in his absence, the officers ) reserves the right to modify any rule on a case-by-case basis if unforeseen circumstances result in the possibility of loot being distributed in an undesirable manner. We're not trying to fuck you, and this will very rarely be implemented.
